Appologies if there is already an existing thread for this topic, but I was just wondering how many of the group are planning to attend, and wether anyone knows the programme for the weekend. I have looked at the event thread wwiireenacting.co.uk forum, but find it hard to follow........... Cheers all

Waltham Abbey is about 20 mile south of where I live on the Hertfordshire / Essex border. Best reached on the A1(M), turning onto M25 at South Mimms going past Potters Bar and that takes you streight to Waltham Abbey To cut a long story short, take a look at [a href="http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=538781&y=200450&z=3&sv=Waltham+abbey&st=3&tl=Waltham+Abbey,+Essex+[Town]&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf"]http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=538781&y=200450&z=3&sv=Waltham+abbey&st=3&tl=Waltham+Abbey,+Essex+[Town]&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf[/a] Hopefully I can beg a lift off of someone enroute down south

Great stuff, Hmmn Shandy been a few years since I had one of those............Tried Guiness Shandy once when I used to do bar work, difficult to make but curiously nice!
I agree with you the event looks good, And from what I remember of the site, (Went there years ago) it's an awesome setting also.
I see from the other forum that there is a few things planned Skirmishes etc, also sounds like a fair amount of Groups are planning to attend.

It's pretty rural down there, nice historic setting, in the midst of epping forest so you have a fair bit of countryside, nice place from what I remember........stark comparison to London which is about 15 mile south. As for where the event is being held, if you get the chance check out www.royalgunpowdermills.com/nice location for the V.E day event, I went to Hyde Park back in the 1995 '50th Anniversary' celebrations....that was pretty amazing, still have the event programme. Hopefuly this will be one to remember too. Does anyone know if we are planning to take part in the skirmish part of the event?

Yes we are Ed, however as the show has a limited budget there's not a ton of cash available for this... unless your your own stick expect to be KIA very early on in the 'battle'
