That phrase reminds me of an old B&W film I saw years ago based on the D-Day invasions. An American G.I. was using his 'cricket' to communicate with other GI's.........anyway this perticular G.I. was behind a wall and sounded his cricket "click click" and got the desired response......."click click".....unfortunately for the G.I. the clicking wasn't from a Cricket but a K98 being C0cked by the boche.....Hence 'deadmans click' An extra 10 pints if anyone can name the film

dead man's click is when you have a misfire, either an dud round, or empty mag etc. It is literally when you pull the trigger to fire and te rifle goes 'click' instead of 'bang'. Oh and have you noticed on that scene in the longest day the german fires off 2 shots without recocking and fires 6 overall? i wish i could do that...

Well if anyone remembers HB 1 i was told off for killing everyone as a German! ;D I was supposed to have a K98, but you all gave me time to reload. Silly people...but Guv was the better German, especially when on film!! hehehe...anyone remember Oll's comment? Bonus tea ration for anyone that can remember
