Designed and first produced in 1895, restarted production in 1932 after stopping for 14 years. Production stopped in 1945, Err wonder why!! About a Million made in total as expensive to produce, A stock was fitted to make a carbine and a fully automatic was produced to use as a light machine pistol. It fired a 9mm round and had a 3.4 inches barrel. Is that any help?

It was popular during the Boer War, Winston Churchill Praised it highly after using it in the Battle of Omdurman in 1898. Also it had a 8 round magazine.
Also found out the Luger PO8 is based on a American 1893 designed pistol the Borchardt.
