sounds good, u can never have to much old lint.......interesting you should mention prop's, I have been thinking about special effects in films and such like
(Probably been watching saving pvt ryan too much)
and how/if this could be mixed into reenacting/displays... I dont know if this is possible or done already, bearing in mind I have never done reenacting.......Obviously I dont mean getting too gory or ruining and staining BD's with fake blood but maybe adding another degree of realism.
Might sound stupid but just a thought.....what do you guys think?

This is something i've toyed with Ed, two points that scuppered it. As most public battles have strict safetly proceedures the public are not likely to see a squirt of blood or so unless you really go to town & make it private ryan style which brings on the second point..... it may cause some distress for the public to see this level of theatrics, it's generally a unwritten rule not to dramatise injury & death.... best left alone me thinks.... some of the longer guys will appreciate more where i'm coming from. Max / Ian, anything to add as 'contact' re-enactors

Perhaps we could open up a new thread to deal with 'realism' in re-enactment & stuff.
For my twopence worth. One of the best 'wounded' type scenarios was a couple of years ago at Kidderminster. One of the KP1 lads (I forget his name, he has since joined the Borderers) was sitting on a bench at the train platform with a pair of ripped trousers, fake blood on his knee, an arm in a sling, his webbing undone and a f*g hanging out of the corner of his mouth. The amount of people who stopped and took a photo was amazing. So I would say 'yes' to a diorama - perhaps with a medic in tow and a 'casualty' label tied to his BD. But i'm not sure how we can make it fit into a 'battle display' event A good idea though Eddie - have a chinwag with Monty, he's our residednt Medic and Explosives bod (A strange mixture that eh?)

Help. Do any of you guys have an unblancoed 1937 pattern pistol holster that you would be willing to swap for a blancoed one - 1941 dated? It's for my ANZAC kit. Cheers, Digger

You are a couple of weeks late mate - they were given a new home at Stoneleigh.
Paul however has 2 Female aux pouches, i'm sure he will let one go your way, we'll keep our eye out for the other pouch.
