Another cracking book by Patrick DelaForce is the Black Bull, all about the 11th Armoured Div, in which he served. Its in the same style as the Polar Bears and Montys Iron Sides but it is written on a more personal level. Well worth a look ;D

P.D.F's books are worth reading just for the small items of info that you don't read in most publications. Soldiers chatting about the important issues, like brewing tea etc.

Anythng by George MacDonald Fraser is worth a read. Flashmans damn funny victorian oficer cross between sharpe band and a total kent brilliant.
The complete MacAuslan is another funny one. Set after the war in North Africa in a Bn of Gordon Highlanders. Fraser said in the early editions that it was mainly ficton but in the layest publication he admits about 99.9% of its true which is totaly mental. happy to lend from my collection just give me a shout.

Does anybody have a copy of the new Osprey Campaign series book "Crete"?
I can't wait to get to Salute in April to pick up a copy.
Leicesters and ANZACS fighting side-by-side against the Green Devils.
Cushty.
