Just out of bored curiosty, what are everyone's top 3 war films of all time, preferably WW2.
Here goes:
1, Battle of Britain (1969) Just for the shear scale of the film. If you haven't seen it, get the DVD as you won't be dissapointed.
2, Where Eagles Dare. Although its a fictional story, it's one of my all time fave's. Amazing plot full of double and triple crosses, what's not to like?
3, Battle Ground 1944. (1949) If you want to watch a movie about the Ardennes Offensive, for get the '60's movie Battle of the Bulge with Robert Shaw, this ones much better.

2, Dunkirk
3, The longest Day
& nearly making it are. SPR (cus it rekindled interest in WW2) & Thin Red Line.

My top 3 Hollywood ' Fantasy' WW2 films.
1) Kellys Heroes - LMFAO!! Woof, Woof, Woof!
2) A Bridge too Far
3) Battle Of The Bulge
4) 633 Squadron
Enough errors, omissions, inaccuracies and bloopers in # 2 & 3 to turn them into fantasy though.
Okay so I can't count up to 3 proppur liyk!!

I think Kelly's Heros does it for me too. Great plot, great characters. Who could ask for anything else?

Although not in my top 3, The Dirty Dozen deserves a mention. Total fantasy, but anything with Telly Savalas in ROCKS!!!! (even Kojack ;D)

I love most war films, my top three would have to be
1) Zulu ( i still have nightmare's that i'm a redcoat being totally overwhelmed by the Zulu hoards) 2) All Quiet On the Western Front (B+W version) 3) Dunkirk (i just love listening to the clinks and clangs of the equipment, plus loads of SMLE's)
Mentioned in dispatches Zulu Dawn (the equipment/uniforms are more realistic than Zulu) Young Winston (for the armoured train bit), SPR, Thin Red Line, Waterloo (for Rod Steiger's 'scenery chewing' over-acting as Napoleon
